Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday that I
put my eyes on the most precious little boy. I had NO idea that I would love
this charming child as much as I do. I absolutely cannot believe that he is
already three. I am constantly fighting back tears as my mind attempts to
process how quickly time has passed. I must admit that sometimes my mind moves
in fast forward mode to years down the road and I Just. Can’t. Take. It. It is
incredibly heartbreaking. I have LOVED every stage of my darling boy’s life and
I often want to just freeze time and keep him at this age forever. He is SO
much fun! He is a joy to be around and we are more in love with him today than
ever!
A few things for my little love:
Personality: We
are constantly observing your personality reveal itself in so many different
ways. You have an incredibly sweet spirit and love and care for others. You are
often willing to share your toys and become devastated if someone does not
share with you. You are very tenderhearted and very rarely get in trouble at
home or school. You obey adults (as well as two/three year olds do) and if you
ever stray from doing what is asked, a stern look is heartbreaking enough for you
to immediately straighten up and apologize (and roll your bottom lip out and
sob). You love to “give wub (love)” to family and friends, invite visitors to
“come on in” after you open the door for them, and you definitely melt my heart
when you often call me “pitty (pretty) mommy.”
Eating: You are
still not the best eater but not as picky as you could be. Fruits and
vegetables are NOT a popular choice and they are only eaten in the form of a
pouch. I’m thinking it is a texture aversion and hoping that you outgrow it
soon…VERY soon! You mostly enjoy chicken nuggets, meatballs, homemade waffles,
bacon, yogurt, and snack foods. I have recently discovered that you really like
peanut butter but do not care to eat it on bread. Crackers or just peanut
butter on a spoon are perfect! There are plenty of other things that you will
eat but those are favorites at the moment.
Play: Paw Patrol
toys are a HUGE hit and we usually take several of the pups wherever we go. It
is SO much fun to watch your sweet imagination run wild as you play and pretend
with your toys. Playing outside is fun and you like to play with riding toys
and balls. During the warmer months, the water table is tons of fun and
occupies a lot of your time outside. You have just discovered Play-doh and you
seem to enjoy it a lot. You received a few Paw Patrol board games for Christmas
and those are fun for Family Game Night. You try SO hard to play by the
rules…so sweet.
School: You
currently attend Mulberry United Methodist Church. You are in the 2K class and
are 1 of 11 children in your class. “Mrs. Cilla (Priscilla) and Miss Sun
(Shun)” are your teachers. You are well behaved at school and are learning SO
much! You have made so many sweet friends and Bowen is your BEST friend! We
hear A LOT about Bowen and are very happy that you love to play with this sweet
little boy. I am hoping that you will continue to go there next year for 3K
too! We have been very blessed by how well you have adjusted and how much you
LOVE it! It makes going to work every day a little easier.
What You’re Talking
About: Let me begin by saying, our conversations are very interesting and fun…Daddy and I love them! There is never a dull moment! You frequently talk about Christmas and your memory…oh my
goodness…amazes me every day! You remember many of the activities that we did with
you and specific ornaments on our tree. We spent lots of time focusing on “The
Christmas Story” during the Christmas season and you still make references to
Baby Jesus on a regular basis. Any horses, donkeys, or cows that you see in
books are always going to see Baby Jesus. You also remember decorating cookies
for Santa, leaving them on his plate with milk, and crumbling “cackers
(crackers)” in the front yard for his reindeer. You came up with giving the
reindeer a snack on your own. So, of course, we did what we could to make it
happen. I’m not really sure that reindeer typically eat crackers but I’m sure
that Santa’s reindeer loved the ones you left for them.
You are also very excited about your birthday this year. It
is precious to see you get SO excited and hear you talk about your “birday
paw-ty.” You are having a Paw Patrol party at Party Playgrounds and this is the
first year that we have extended invitations to the friends in your class. We
know that you will have tons of fun playing with your friends and cousins.
Brady will be here very soon! You enjoy talking to him,
kissing my tummy, and sharing your toys with Brady. You remind us daily that Brady
is going to come out of Mommy’s tummy and you often ask him if he is going to
play with you. Sweetest. Thing. Ever. You
are going to be an AMAZING big brother and we cannot wait to see you interact
with Brady and share all of your love with him!
You are an incredible little boy and Daddy and I love you
more than you will ever know! We hope you have a very Happy Birthday! We are
excited to see what this next year will hold for you and to see all that you
will learn and discover! We pray for you daily and know that God has GREAT
things planned for you! Much Love Forever and Always!
Just a few hours old!
Three year pictures will be taken next month with Brady's newborn pictures...parent of the year...I know!

What a cute birthday boy!! I love all the pictures. Thank you for your sweet comment on my post about adding a sibling to the family. Your idea of having a little bday party at the hospital was SO SWEET! Olive adores parties so I think she'd be really excited to help pick out some party supplies. I'll be sure to post about our celebration :) We have a little puppy stuffed animal for Olive to give her brother and I love your idea of me not holding the baby when she first comes to visit us. Such smart advice!! THANK YOU for sharing especially since you were just in my shoes a month ago :)
