Go Jackets and Happy Shopping!

As part of Ryan's Christmas gift, we bought tickets to the Tech/Boston College basketball game. The game was February 4, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in Atlanta. Jason and I bought tickets for ourselves as well...we try to go to at least one game each season (I would like to go to more but...). We were planning to make a day of our trip to Atlanta by leaving at 11:00 and staying through dinner. After the game, we planned to do some shopping (of course), and eat dinner. At about 10:50, Christi called to tell us that they were running a little late (we were not surprised). Ryan had been sick (stomach issues) the night before so a good night's sleep was not had by all. Due to feeling puny, they debated taking their own car in case they needed to come home early. In the end, they decided to ride with us. We were preparing to leave, loading the car, and Jason checked with them to make sure that they had their tickets. They claimed to have everything they needed so we headed out.
We were merging onto 75 north and I asked Christi if they had their tickets. She said that she didn't have them and she asked Ryan if he had them. He said, "I thought you got them." Needless to say, we had to turn around and go back to the house to get their tickets. We finally let our house at 11:50 and made it to Atlanta shortly after 1:00. The game was a "nail-biter" and kept me on the edge of my seat with my popcorn bucket. Tech won with only a few seconds left in the game.
Following the game, we began the most important part of our day, shopping at Atlantic Station and Target (well, a couple). I was on a mission to find undershirt tank tops. The first Target was a bust and I was FuRiOuS! These dang tank tops are so hard to find. The second Target stop was a success...I found two white and one black.
Dinner was at Ted's and was absolutely delicious! I just had a bacon cheeseburger but it was DiViNe! I can't wait to go back. We all had a great time and it was fun to spend some extra time with Christi and Ryan!
Much Love and GO JACKETS!

The Daily Grind!

It is with regret that I must admit that the true "Daily Grind" resumes bright and early tomorrow morning. Lesson plans, meetings, grading papers, meetings, fundraisers, meetings, Strategic Planning, and more meetings! Fun times!!! Work officially resumed Friday, January 6th; however, students will be coming tomorrow! While I am extremely grateful for having a job, I enjoyed my holiday so much and would absolutely LOVE for it to continue! Jason and I were able to spend some great time together and with family and friends.  I made the extremely reasonable suggestion of becoming a "stay-at-home wife" but like I said, the "Daily Grind" resumes tomorrow.

I had great success this week with my New Year Challenges. I worked out three days, read each day in Magnificent Prayer, and I am now working on my post. All of these "Challenges" seem to be a form of therapy for me right now (hopefully this will continue)! I am slowly (but surely) figuring out the ins and outs of blogging and hope to post some pictures soon.

Jason and I have been attending Northway Church for several years. The congregation is extremely friendly and supportive. We have been able to develop many relationships through our Home Team (aka Homecoming with the Homeboys!). This is just a fancy name for small group or Bible Study Group. Anyway, Jason is a member of the church and I have been a regular attender for approximately three years. Since we are married now, I have been interested in becoming a member so that we can have our memberships in the same place (just seems to be another piece to the unity puzzle). One would think that this would be a fairly simple task but I have definitely been struggling with this matter. Since Northway is a Baptist Church, my baptism in the Methodist Church is not recognized. That in itself is a tough pill to swallow! It does not make sense to me and I feel that baptism is a matter between an individual and God. Due to this difference, I have developed some bitterness towards becoming a member. We attended a membership class tonight which discussed the vision and mission of the church, etc, etc, etc. I sat and listened hoping to hear the pastor say that I would not have to be baptized again...it did not happen. In order for me to join Jason in membership at Northway, I will indeed have to be re-baptized. While this upset me, Jason came up with a plan that made me feel better (he has a great way of doing this...I just love him!). We have decided that we will both be baptized (as a family) commiting to keep God in the center of our relationship, family, and home and to trust Him in all that we do! I just LOVE that! I plan to contact the pastor tomorrow to let him know our decision...Problem Solved...GET EXCITED!

Much Love!

Happy New Year!!!

It is so hard to believe that it is already 2012 and that Jason and I have been married for six months! We are doing really well and staying very busy. I have decided not to make any "resolutions" this year but rather to start a few new things. Blogging is one of my new interests. Time goes by so quickly and I have wanted to keep a journal/scrapbook of things that happen on a day to day basis; however, time does not typically allow for these things. Blogging seems to be the answer! It is definitely quicker to type than write and I will be able to include pictures...PERFECT! My goal is to blog atleast once a week. Other new things that I am going to incorporate into my life include going to the gym atleast three times each week and read daily in Magnificent Prayer. I look forward to my new challenges in 2012. I suppose I need to go to the gym tomorrow!

Much Love!
