Brady Michael {2 Months}

My Precious Brady,

Another month has come and gone and so many of your tiny features are changing. While I am very thankful, my precious boy, that you are growing as you should, I am heartbroken that some of those tiny newborn features are slipping away right before me. Your sweet cheeks are a little more full than when you were first born...just more for Mommy to kiss! Your beautiful blue eyes have a way of melting my heart when you look up at me (just like Daddy's and Levi's). I have heard people say that a baby's eyes may change color but I really feel that your indigo blues are here for good!

You are such a happy baby and are more than willing to give out smiles! You smile when you are talked to, when you are looking at your toys, and especially when Levi is talking to you and smothering you with love and kisses. There are also many times that we can simply look at you and your whole face just lights up! The dimples that appear in your cheeks with each smile are just precious and I cannot get enough!

You are still an excellent eater. You are taking 5 ounces of Similac Sensitive Non-GMO Formula every 3 to 4 hours. At night, we can typically wait 5 to 6 hours between feedings. This is great...a few extra winks of sleep are always appreciated!

You are wearing a Size 1 diaper and have done well with Huggies and Pampers. We still have not bought a single diaper for you and we are so very thankful for that! Your clothes are usually 0-3 months or 3 months. We are making great use of some of Levi's clothes and I LOVE seeing you wear some of the same things that he wore. It is the sweetest! Most, if not all, of your Newborn clothes are too small (again...bittersweet).

This month you have discovered your sweet little hands. You like to put them in your mouth and you often try to figure out a way to suck your thumb. Your tiny hands that are plumped with sugar are SO precious and delicious that I don't blame you for tasting them regularly.

Weight: 13 pounds 10 ounces (80%)

Height: 24 inches (90%)

Likes: playing on your play mat, swinging (for short amounts of time), being held, watching Levi, being outside, taking a bath, looking at the firetruck on your wall, eating, snuggling, holding onto the shirt of whomever is holding you (SO sweet!)

Dislikes: being left in a room by yourself, being hungry, having a poopy diaper

Nicknames: Brady Bug, Chicken Little, Mr. Cheekers, Cheeks McGee

A Few Firsts:
3/23/16: You took your first bath in the big bath tub. We used the mesh seat from the baby tub in the regular tub. You loved it and so did we. Bath time was a million times easier!

3/24/16: You smiled me when I talked to you. Heart Melted!

3/25/16: You smiled at Daddy when he talked to you.

3/27/16: You celebrated your first Easter with lots of family, egg hunts, and love! The Easter Bunny left a few treats for you as well.

3/29/16: You shed your very first tear. It was SO sad but sweet at the same time.

3/31/16: You and Levi took your first bath together. Mommy and Daddy were a bit nervous but were pleasantly surprised. You absolutely loved it and Levi was extremely gentle and made no huge splashes. The two of you take baths together regularly now. It is the sweetest

3/30/16: We went to the Cherry Blossom Festival at Central City Park. Levi had a great time riding all the rides and you enjoyed riding in your stroller outside.

4/2/16: You went with us to the Cherry Blossom Festival Arts and Crafts Show. You enjoyed being outside even though it was a bit windy.

4/3/16: We had a picnic at Party on the Green. You enjoyed spending time outside and did great with the fireworks!

4/20/16: Slept through the night (Praise the Lord!)

4/22/16: 2 Month Doctor's Appointment
You had your first round of shots since you left the hospital. It was SO sad! You cried (held your breath) until the last shot was over. Shortly after the last shot, you stopped crying and slept for most of the day. You were not interested in eating...just snuggling and sleeping!

You are such a blessing to our family, little one. Mommy, Daddy, and Levi thank God for you every day. You and Levi are amazing gifts from God and Daddy and I are ever grateful that we were chosen to be your parents. We pray that both of you grow into strong and healthy boys that know Jesus as your Lord and  Savior. Much Love Always!

Weekend Wrap {Mama Needs Some Color Edition}

This weekend was absolutely FABULOUS! My sweet little family and I enjoyed sunshine, sweet snuggles, and some much needed relaxation!

We started our weekend with a low key dinner with my parents. Friday night, at home (or your parent's house), in yoga pants, YUMMY dinner...Winning!

Saturday morning we were up and off to a birthday party for one of Levi's sweet classmates. I love watching all of these sweet friends interact and play together! It's the sweetest!!! We love being able to play at this park and Saturday was no different. There were lots of smiles to go around!
Swinging with Daddy is SO much fun!

After the party, we went to Mellow Mushroom for a lunch date before heading home for naps. While my boys were resting and relaxing at home, I was resting and relaxing in the pedicure chair. A MUCH needed mani/pedi was in the books and it was De. Light. Ful.

When I returned (2.5 hours later), all of my boys were up and ready for our trip to Lowe's to pick out new flowers and pots for the front porch. Mama needed some color up there. While we were there, Jason helped Levi choose some seeds to plant and grow. He picked seeds that will have red flowers (red is his favorite color-right now) and an orange "bucket" (pot).

Sunday morning was spent at church and lunch with Jason's family. After lunch we came home for much needed naps! Levi and I slept for at least 2.5 hours before I woke him to go plant flowers. I am very pleased with how these turned out...hopefully we can keep them alive!

Levi is ready to help.

And that lasted about 2.2 seconds. Playing Paw Patrol, of course!

My sweet husband working hard to carry out my visions and shenanigans.

Of course he comes back for watering! He loves to play in the water which is why they are watering with a jug instead of the water hose!

Brady Michael {1 Month}

How in the world can you blink one time and a whole month be gone?

Our lives were forever changed (again) on February 22nd. My Sweet Brady, you came into this world at 3:04 a.m. and have completely stolen our hearts!  You are an absolute joy and we are so happy that God chose us to be your parents. We are SO thankful that you are a happy and healthy baby and are excited to watch you grow and experience this journey and adventure that we call life.

At the end of 1 Month we have already learned so many things about your sweet personality. You have grown SO much since your birthday and are MUCH bigger than your big brother was at this age. You were almost 2 pounds heavier and 2 inches longer at birth so you definitely had a bit of a head start.

You have gone from drinking 1.5 ounces every 3 hours to 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours. We put rice cereal in your bottle after your 2 week checkup to help with some minor reflux issues. Mrs. Molly suggested this to slightly thicken your formula and it worked beautifully for you! Needless to say, you are an amazing eater!

You have also grown out of your Newborn diapers and are wearing a Size 1. Huggies Snugglers fit you the best as their Size 1 diapers are significantly smaller than Pampers Swaddlers in the same size.

The clothing department has proved to be a little tricky. You are definitely wearing a lot of newborn size clothes but we are able to make some 0-3 months and 3 months sizes work. The Newborn size pieces definitely fit you the best. Most of your days are spent at home so you often wear infant gowns. These are soft and snuggly and make it very easy for Mommy to change your diaper throughout the day. I LOVE that these have matching hats (and most,if not all, of your gowns are monogrammed-big surprise). The tricky part of your wardrobe comes from the fact that we have been having unseasonably warm weather. We have tried to use a lot of Levi's clothes but have struggled. Since he was born in January, his clothes (that are the size you need) are more suited for winter weather.

During your first month, we celebrated your first St. Patrick's Day. This was a fun day filled with lots of green snacks (for Levi at school) and your first trip to the ball field (the cure for a case of cabin fever).  Levi was SO proud to know that the two of you were wearing matching shirts. That thrilled this Mommy's heart and I plan to continue taking advantage of it as long as I can.

Likes: Eating, snuggling, being held

Dislikes: Being left in a room by yourself, being burped (this requires you to stop eating), riding in the car (I hope you outgrow this.), being cold (especially after a bath)

You are so loved, my precious boy! Levi is the sweetest with you and melts my heart every time he rubs your head or face or gives you a huge kiss! Daddy and I love you more than you will ever know and we are so glad that you are finally here so that we can LOVE, LOVE, LOVE on you! Much Love Always!

Mommy

Levi is SO in love with you and is always willing to assume his role as "Big  Brother"!

This is how Mommy feels about you being one month old!
